Seeds of Time

This is a game that a friend and I have made for our college final major project. It's our first year on the course, so there's still a lot to learn, but I think this game came out really well for the few months we had to make it.

In the game, you are tasked with getting seeds, growing them, and then selling them. I believe the game is relatively straight forward, however, the sketchy merchant can be of help if you don't quite understand.

Basically: find the guy, go to the computer, buy a seed, plant it, water it, harvest it once it's done, and pot the plant. The plant will sell automatically after a random amount of time, and then you get the money.

Not all of the settings work, because I didn't know how to set them up/ didn't have the time to. The resolution actually kinda works, however, it's a little buggy. For some reason 1, 2 and 3 changes the resolution too, which is a little odd.

There are a lot of bugs. You can walk through anything because the movement is.. bad. If you are in range of the sketchy guy, and he walks away, you may need to go back in range and then away for his UI to disappear, since otherwise you can't interact with stuff for some reason. I'm sure there's plenty more, so maybe try finding them and let me know, even though I probably won't update this :p

Also, the game doesn't save progress, so if you quit, you start over again!

I hope you enjoy our little game. With two people working on this for only a few months, only one of which was actually production, it has taken a while, but I'm proud with how it's come out, and I've learnt a lot from it. I wonder what'll be next 👀

And yes, I used ChatGPT to help with code, that's how I'm learning basically!
